The last basketball game

Dylan #6--just starting the game

Dylan shooting a free throw

Dylan's team minus 2 players

Dylan's team finished their season. They did not win one game. I prayed that they would win one but it was not meant to be. Dylan had a good time playing and so that is what is important. He did get injured in the first quarter of the last game--he was kneed by a player and then fell on it right after. He didn't go back into the game until the last quarter. He is still limping a bit.

Snow day and sledding fun

Chelsey, Kendall & Brittney before going down hill and going down the hillCourtney pulling Chelsey up--the hill is pretty steep

Courtney & Jadyn going down the hill

On Friday we woke up to get ready for school and there was no snow on the ground but it was predicted to come. I checked the computer and school was cancelled--it was kind of strange with no snow yet. It started snowing about 7:45 AM and then kept on snowing hard at times and we ended up with about 6-8 inches by about 2:00 PM. The kids all went over to our neighbors to sled. They all had a really fun time going down the hill and riding behind the four-wheeler. I took Chelsey over after her nap and she loved it. Both her and Kendall had a hard time walking back up the hill, though.

More Basketball

Dylan #6
Dylan plays point guard so he takes the ball down the court

Dylan #6 passing the ball
Dylan's 7th grade team has not won a game this year. They have 3 games left and so are hoping that maybe they can win one at least. Dylan has made quite a few points this year and has been able to make some 3 pointers. He really enjoys playing and I am very thankful that he has such a good attitude especially when losing all the time.

Courtney before performing

Before haircut

After haircut

Courtney was a part of a dance team clinic at our school. She learned a routine and then performed for half time of the boys basketball game on Thursday night. She did a great job!
Chelsey got her first haircut on January 30. I know you can't tell much of a difference but I did cut enough off to make the ends straight.

Basketball

Dylan made the free throw-see the basketball in the net

Go Cougars!

This is how Chelsey spent most of the game.

Dylan's 7th grade team had their first basketball game on Monday and they lost 23-25. Tuesday they also had a game but got beat by a much larger margin. They only have 7 kids from their class out for basketball so Dylan plays the whole game. He still likes it despite getting beat so that is what counts.

Hoop Shoot Contest

We woke up early this morning to drive to York for the free throw shooting contest. Dylan was selected as a representative of our school in the 12-13 year old group. He didn't win but he placed third out of 7 in his group!! Way to go, Dylan!!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve always starts off with the traditional smorgasboard of food. We all look forward to this every year.
This year after we ate my dad went out to check on a cow that was going to have a calf and it had had the calf sometime that day. It was cool for the kids to be able to go out and see the calf that was born on Christmas Eve. Courtney told me they named him Baby Jesus. Calving usually occurs in March--neither of my parents know what happened?!

My mother told the Christmas story of the wisemen bringing gifts to Jesus and each received gifts like the wisemen had brought as she told the story--it was really neat.
Look what santa brought the boys!Courtney with her gift

Brittney with her high school musical CD

Chelsey got Hermie and a Hermie movie from Don & Angie & kids.
We had a good time celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior with my mom and dad and brother and family. We don't see each other very often so was a nice time together.

Sledding Fun

Chelsey & Dylan

Brandon & Jace

Courtney, Kailee & Brittney
We headed up to North Dakota for our annual Christmas with my family. My brother and his wife and 2 kids were there too for about 2 1/2 days. My parents have received an over abundance of snow this year so it was fun for the kids. It would have been much better is the temperatures would have cooperated--I think this day it was about 12 degrees and the kids were all bundled up well!! Brandon was the official sled puller on the 4-wheeler as my dad could not get his snowmobile started.
