Swedish Festival

Chelsey & Courtney on Merry Go Round
Dylan and friends played in the 3 on 3 basketball tournament
Courtney climbing the rock wall
Courtney, Brittney & Chelsey riding the train
The girls on the wagon ride
Chelsey riding the motorcycles
Brittney riding the motorcycles
The tilt a whirl was the favorite ride
Does this train go any faster?

The kids all had fun at the Swedish Festival this past weekend. They spent a lot of time riding the rides. Dylan also played in the 3 on 3 basketball tournament. There were only 2 teams in their division and so they played 3 games and won 1 and lost 2, they had a fun time playing anyway. The parade was also a hit with a lot of candy gathered by each of them. We had some storms and rain rumble through but didn't last too long. Mostly I think that kids enjoy seeing their friends that they haven't seen all summer and hanging out. My feet hurt from standing so much and watching them ride the rides.

Vacation 2008 Storm Lake, Iowa

Chelsey, Courtney & Brittney

Goofy kids

This year we went on a short vacation for us--we only stayed for 4 nights. We went to the Kings Pointe resort in Storm Lake, Iowa. The kids all had a fun time in the indoor waterpark--they liked it so much it was hard for us to get them to go to the outdoor waterpark. We had a few cool days and stormy nights but a fun time was had by all. We even rented 2 tandem bikes and biked a lot on the bike trails in town. I asked the kids what their favorite part of vacation was and almost everyone of them said swimming--imagine that!

Piano Recital

This past Sunday Courtney and Dylan had their spring piano recital, both did very well on their songs. I think that they are both ready to be done for the summer. Dylan has been taking lessons for 5 years and Courtney has been taking them for 3 years. We have also had Vacation Bible School this week. I was the craft leader this year and that was a little stressful as most of our items did not arrive until the day before we needed to use them. It worked out, though. Chelsey was able to go for the first time since I was helping and she loved it. She was even learning the songs and the actions to them. The next time you hear from me we will be on vacation as we are leaving on Saturday, June 7.
